Mucus in the Mouth

involves demyelination in the spinal cord and in the brain. The demyelination in the brain is different than a demyelinating attack from MS; the lesions are scattered and do not appear in the same pattern as those from an MS attack.

Mucus in the Mouth

Postby fulcickas » Thu Nov 11, 2010 4:50 pm

My son has was is being diagonosed as ADEM, but not positively so. When his problems started in July, he had among other problem the loss of saliva in his mouth, replaced by mucus. He has been undergoing steroid treatment which was initially successful. But during the withdrawal process, he has relapse in going from 30mg per day to 20 mg.. The mucus suddenly reappeared as well as some other symptoms. His doctors have bumped his daily dosage back to 30 mg which I hope will solve the problem. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this mucus problem ?
